How We Got Here

I have always had a love of vintage carousel horses. One of my most treasured possessions is a ceramic carousel horse Christmas ornament from my beloved grandmother. I still guard it fiercely today. Driving home one afternoon, my husband saw a discarded moldy, mushroom-sprouting wood pile mess on the side of the road. He also saw something else—the pieces resembled what used to be a wooden horse sculpture. He threw it in the bed of his truck, took it to a trusted friend who lovingly restored it for me and transformed it into one of my favorite treasures. The restoration affected me deeply and started my path toward reclaiming forgotten beautiful objects and creating their next life.
